Rewrite the Story of Strength
Join Bobbie Ellis and Karin Weinstein for a deeply nourishing, enlivening weekend.
This women’s empowerment weekend is an invitation to rewrite the story of strength. Here, strength is not about pushing harder, tightening more, or overriding your inner signals. Instead, we’ll explore strength as something intimate, responsive, and intelligent—grown from the inside out through presence, sensation, and choice.
Through thoughtfully sequenced somatic movement and strength-based explorations, you will:
-
Awaken deep muscular awareness and core vitality while honoring softness, breath, and rest.
-
Learn how slow, precise strength work will help you sense how power organizes naturally when the body feels safe and listened to.
-
Play with fluid, restorative movement to help balance effort with ease, allowing confidence and resilience to emerge without force.
-
Explore concepts to support your mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical resilience.
-
Use anatomical imagery as a map to support curiosity and self-trust.
-
Connect to the strength that already lives in you.
Bobbie and Karin weave together six decades of experience to create a space that is both grounded and playful, dynamic and compassionate.
This weekend is for women who want to feel strong and empowered. Come as you are. Leave feeling rooted, radiant, and resourced—connected to a strength that is sustainable, embodied, and unmistakably your own.
NOTE: This program is for women and those who identify as women only.

Awakening the Wisdom of the Body
at
Menla Retreat Center
Phoenicia NY
A Somatic Yoga & Movement Retreat
with Bobbie Ellis & Karin Weinstein
September
4 Days / 3 Nights
Set amidst the forested mountains of the Catskills, this four-day retreat at Menla offers a spacious and nourishing invitation to come home to your body’s innate intelligence. Awakening the Wisdom of the Body is a somatic yoga and movement journey designed to support deep listening, embodied resilience, and a renewed sense of vitality.
Through gentle, exploratory movement, somatic yoga, breath awareness, and guided rest, we will slow down enough to sense what the body knows—beyond habit, effort, or performance. Drawing from somatic education, trauma-informed yoga, and creative movement practices, Bobbie Ellis and Karin Weinstein create a warm, inclusive container where curiosity leads the way and each participant is honored as their own best teacher.
Daily sessions will weave together floor-based practices, standing explorations, and improvisational movement, alongside time for reflection and integration. You’ll be invited to notice patterns, awaken fluidity, and discover new options for ease, support, and expression—on the mat and in daily life.
Menla’s serene setting, nourishing meals, and natural beauty offer the perfect backdrop for restoration. Between sessions, you’ll have time to walk the land, rest, journal, or simply be, allowing the practices to settle and take root.
This retreat is for anyone longing to reconnect with their body in a gentle, meaningful way. It is suitable for a wide range of bodies and experience levels. Modifications and choices will be offered throughout, making it accessible to those new to somatic work as well as seasoned practitioners.
It is well-suited for yoga and movement practitioners, teachers, caregivers, therapists, and curious newcomers alike—especially those seeking nervous-system support, embodied resilience, creative exploration, or a pause from doing and striving. No prior somatic experience is required; all bodies, ages, and levels of mobility are welcome.
