Yoga
® teaches the original
principles of yoga practice; non-violence,
awareness, sensing from within, the wisdom of self
discovery, concentration, commitment, connection
to nature, and healing the body and mind. With
gentle precision, Soma Yoga uses somatic movement
education, posture, breath and sound healing with
universal spiritual food to enliven, relax,
strengthen and create more flexibility on a
holistic level in the body, mind and soul of each
individual.
Classes, workshops and study
are paced in what we call a “bell curve” starting
with basic principles of any piece of practice and
adding more complex and detailed ideas to that
basic concept, the student has many choices of
where to be in that curve depending on his or her
ability. Soma Yoga strives to fit the practice to
the person not the person to the practice…
Soma Yoga is one of the only
practices that incorporates somatic education and
inner inquiry, a key component to opening the body
and filling the gaps between the body and mind
connections. Not someone else’s gaps,the student
who is in the process of practice. Soma Yoga's
active teaching style enlivens the imposed upon
principles of more static practices leaving one
with a direct bridge to that which is inside. The
energy and power of the masculine is met with the
deep caress and flow of the feminine with a
backdrop of breath to carry one through . .
